SCSidney's Catalogue Editing

Editing for YouTube education creators.

We edit long-form YouTube education videos so you can focus on teaching, building, and showing up consistently. Structure first. Clarity over effects.

01How it works

From raw footage to a video that converts.

1

You record

Talking head, screen share, or both. Whatever your format is, record it and hit stop.

2

We structure

Orientation, pacing, the concept-to-execution handoff. Editorial decisions, not just cuts.

3

We edit

Cuts, pacing, callouts, thumbnail. Your visual system applied. Delivered on your posting cycle.

4

You compound

Retention holds, the platform pushes it, and your paid community grows with it.

Frequently asked

Questions

Who is this for?
YouTube educators and creators who are also running a business alongside their channel, a paid community, coaching, a course, consulting, whatever the model. You're already publishing or ready to start, and you're in it for the long game, not a single viral hit.
What do I need to send you?
Raw footage, whatever gear you shot it on, plus any screen recordings. Upload to a shared drive and we handle structure, pacing, and delivery from there.
How does the trial edit work?
Every collaboration starts with a single trial edit. You see exactly how we structure, cut, and pace before committing to anything ongoing. If it works, we continue. If not, you still walk away with a finished video.
How do revisions work?
We use Frame.io for all reviews. Timestamped, centralized, no long email threads. One round of revisions is included before you post.
Can you match my existing brand style?
Yes. The Channel Blueprint locks in your visual identity before we cut anything. Every edit after that applies it consistently, so you don't have to brief us every time.
How does billing work?
Monthly subscription, billed at the start of each month. Cancel anytime with one month's notice.
DSAbout
David Simpson

The background behind the editing.

Most editors come from post-production. My background is different, and I think it shows in the work. I have a Master's in Film Directing from Edinburgh College of Art, spent years teaching film and communication at the university level in Osaka, Japan, and came up through professional VFX production before any of this.

Teaching shaped how I think about structure. Film shaped how I think about audience attention. That combination, educator's mind, filmmaker's eye, is what I bring to every edit. Based in Calgary, Alberta.

Sidney's Catalogue is a Philip K. Dick reference. That's intentional.
